Bricolage Project met this past Tuesday evening to broadcast an entire two hour set from KBGA’s top-secret headquarters in the heart of Mt. Jumbo. Treb Day and myself, along with the Methamatician, Speak & Breed, Touch & Tell, and the Destro Class Keyboard assaulted the aural sensibilities of Missoula’s college radio listenership. This time around, we took a hybrid approach, mixing classic DJ stylings with circuit bent sounds layered over the top, providing a strong focal point throughout. One quick note before you tune in; The first bit of set one was mostly spent on wiring and setup, so we left it to the grungy ambiance of No Neck Blues Band to get everyone warmed up. You’ll hear us moving in to the mix around the 9 minute mark.

By “assaulting the aural sensibilities of Missoula’s college radio listenership” you must mean “just another two hours of KBGA for Dustin and Cherry,” KBGA’s most loyal and “special” listeners. Not surprisingly they were the only two calls during the show, and who just so happen to be featured at the beginning and end of part two. I like to imagine Dustin draped over his radio, drooling and sedated on pain-killers, and Cherry banging her head to the closest thing to her request for “discotheque, electronic and techno” that we could offer.
But seriously, this show was a blast. When the equipment is F’d up, I’m satisfied just playing with the ground hum through the Harmonizer.
