The Avant Gourd took a break this week to make way for the innaugural set from the soon-to-be-named collaboration between Day and myself. Primarily consisting of circuit bent kid’s toys, FM feedback loops, and ambience, the end result is two hours of glitch ‘n drone madness wrapped up in a 110MB package. Considering that this was our first opportunity to play together in a professional studio, I’m really pleased with the result. Grab yourself a pair of headphones, sit back, close your eyes, and enjoy. Please don’t hesitate to share any feedback you have (whichever way it may lean) in the comments below.

Cole - this was a ton of fun, and I’m super stoked now that I’ve listened to it after the fact.

Glad you like it Jody. Thanks for the Grupthink poll to help us out with a name. This was improv, aka live sound experimentation.

Cole was in the main studio with the cd decks, bent keyboard, and FM loop. I was in studio 2 with my bent spelling book and a kiddie guitar that Cole bent. Both of those ran through “the Harmonizer,” KBGA’s real-time effects processor.

    Guys,

Loved it. Especially liked listening to the rough elements over @ Day’s site first, then seeing how the thing progressed in the studio. Thanks, Day, for explaining the process of how you guys pulled this off in the studios.

Downloaded. Saved in a new folder –>Experimental.
